Childish Faith

A few weeks ago when I was pulling into the parking lot at church I ended up inadvertently scaring a little child who reacted as if I was trying to run them over. She was on the other edge of the aisle that driving by and her mother seemed surprised by her child’s reaction of starting to run when she saw my car coming along toward her at a blazing 5 MPH. Clearly she was never in any real danger as both me and her mother were well aware of yet she was still terrorized by the sight of my car preparing to drive past her. I wonder if this fits into Jesus’ model of faith like a child as the model for Christians to strive after? After all little children scare easily even when there is nothing to be afraid of, yet they know in their fear to fall back upon their parents. So what if its not that Christians are supposed to avoid being afraid of and worrying about things in life, but simply that when it happens we should fall back upon God as our first reaction instead of our least resort when all else fails.
